How to read Tarot

I am not what many would call an expert on how to read Tarot. I have owned several decks over the years and went through spurts of readings and then the deck would be put away for several months before seeing the light of day again or replaced by a new deck.
Of all the books available to help you on the road to reading Tarot, the one I am using right now is the companion book for the Gilded Tarot; this booklet has a wealth of information and different exercises.

One piece I did want to remember for later is the meanings of the numbers for the Minor Arcana. I'll post little tidbits like this as I go.

  • Ace: new beginnings or opportunities
  • Two: a crossroads or choice, balance, duality
  • Three: achievement
  • Four: structure, stability, or stagnation
  • Five: instability, conflict, loss, opportunity for change
  • Six: Communication, problem solving, cooperation
  • Seven: Reflection, assessment, motives
  • Eight: Movement, action, change, power
  • Nine: Fruition, attainment
  • Ten: Completion, end of a cycle
